I absolutely devoured this book. I had to force myself to read slower so I could savor, rather than rush through, each page. This was an excellent read and I am eagerly awaiting the second installment! Virginia Heaton is a successful Vice President at Sutla, a multi-million dollar corporation dedicated to funding socio-economic improvement programs and initiatives in the Washington, DC area. She and her boyfriend Jonah, a high-profile attorney and former employee of Sutla, are among the Capital’s power couples. One would think Virginia had it all; however everything is not as it seems in either her personal or professional life. Even Virginia herself has secrets. She battles a dangerous addiction that will threaten everything she holds dear as a new case of Jonah’s draws her deeper into a cut-throat world of deception and intrigue. A world where no one can be trusted and shadowy conspirators will stop at nothing, including murder, to keep their deeds private.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read! I could barely put it down and wished for it not to end! Brought me back to my love of mysterious written by authors such as Walter Mosley. Majeedah is definitely 1 to add to the list. Looking forward to what’s next!
